Citizens Alliance To Uphold Special Education (CAUSE) is the Parent Training Information Center for the State of Michigan. CAUSE is a statewide non-profit coalition providing free information, referral, support, advocacy, and workshops to parents and professionals working with children with disabilities and special needs.
MISSION STATEMENT CAUSE shall provide a collaborative forum where consumers and providers can actively support an individualized Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) that enables all students to maximize their options in the world community. Our priority is to protect and advocate for the educational rights of students with disabilities. |

Extended School year is a service that is provided to the child beyond the normal school year of the public agency; in accordance with the child's IEP and at no cost to the parents and meet the standards of the State Education Agency. These services are determined by the IEP team on an individual basis and are determined if they are necessary for the provision of FAPE to the child. |
